Great bottle but weak lid
Posted by Apryl on 5th Sep 2017
I was happy to find my husband a 16 oz bottle that didn't have a kids' design, and the bottle is the same durable, well-insulated bottle of the Boulder styles. At first, the lid was also great. It stayed locked and didn't leak but could easily be opened with one hand. However, when the bottle fell 3 feet, out of my husband's backpack and onto the ground, a plastic piece that locks the lid and the spring broke off. So he could no longer close the lid. I was glad I had bought an extra Boulder lid already just in case. I know that falling 3 feet onto concrete isn't ideal use, but most people drop their travel bottles/mugs at some point, so I had expected the Perk lid to be more durable.
The best travel mug I've ever owned

This mug keeps my tea very warm for many hours. It fits into my small hand nicely. I've found that it doesn't leak on me. I like it that I can lock the lid so that in transporting it in a bag, the top doesn't open up. The only thing that I've had trouble with is the button to open the lid- sometimes I have to push really hard to get it open.
Great Promise; Horrible Execution

If I were just reviewing these cups, they would get four stars. I downgraded by one star because there is a spring in the locking mechanism, and I know from experience that these springs don't last long and I also know from other brands I own that there are better solutions available. A bigger problem, and the reason for only a three-star rating is the language accompanying the cups that the manufacturer makes no claims of the cups being leakproof. That's the whole reason for buying them, for crying out loud. It is clear from the construction that they are meant to be leakproof, yet the manufacturer is pathetic in trying to distance itself from any accident that might potentially happen. Shame on the manufacturer for not wanting to stand behind its product.
Insulation and Strainer make it Great

I am glad I found the Perk Insulated Coffee Mug. I like the strainer and the one handed operation. I have other EcoVessel water bottles and the insulation always is pretty incredible.

Good but not perfect

The insulation is no joke. My coffee stays hot for hours. I'm a busy mom of 2 young children, so this is a great feature considering I don't always get to finish my coffee in one sitting. It's also durable. The only issues I have are the spring loaded lid gets stuck which is a bit of an inconvenience when I'm juggling carrying a baby and want a sip. The other improvement I have is the lid should come with a handle. That would make it easier to carry or hook to a bag. There are holes for handles which made me think maybe mine was sent without one by accident. I'm hoping ecovessel will at the very least make a handle available. Other than that, I love this mug.
Great for coffee if lock didn't stick

The locking mechanism sticks and the top won't open,. It does keep my coffee/tea hot for a long long time
Love they came out with his style

I recommend Eco Vessel to everyone. They are the best for keeping liquids hot or cold. I have been waiting for this style. Maybe it's me, but my tea doesn't seem to stay got hot as long as the other styles (which we have many). Can't wait until an update on the lid, as I have to turn it sideways and tilt my head back to drink; which is a hazard while driving. Think I may just put a straw in it for those occasions. Keep up the great work Eco Vessel!
Nice bottle for coffee/tea

I have used this for about a week. I really like this bottle for drinking coffee or tea. Prior to purchasing this bottle, I used one of the original boulder bottles for coffee that I purchased about 3 years ago, which still works great. I have a few newer boulder bottles for water. The lid on this new perk bottle has a much nicer feel for hot beverages. This is a nice addition to the insulated bottles. One minor flaw that I noticed with the lid...while drinking, sometimes my nose bumps against the cap plug. I do not have a particularly large nose, but this was a little surprising (coffee on the nose). This does not happen if I drink slightly different than normal. Anyway, this is a great bottle...highly recommended.
