Earth Day and How You Can Make a Difference
When founder Jon Fox was unable to find a safe alternative to bottles that contained BPA, EcoVessel was born and has been striving to do better, whether in design for our eco-friendly products or caring for the environment, ever since.
At EcoVessel, we function on an appetite for adventure and a respect for the environment. Our mission is to replace single-use plastic bottles with stainless steel water bottles and other drinkware that keep beverages at an optimal temperature.
In maintaining that effort to do better and respect the environment, we have come up with a list of things you can do to celebrate Earth Day 2022.
Ride Your BikeReduce your carbon footprint by biking rather than driving to your destination. The emissions from your car are bad for the environment, but the exercise you get from biking (or walking) is good for you and the planet! When you do ride, don’t forget to keep a reusable water bottle with you to stay hydrated.
Clean Up LitterWhen you do decide to go for a walk, whether through the shopping district or down by the river, pick up trash! Not only is this good for the environment, it makes your stroll a little bit nicer too.
Turn Off The LightsMake sure to turn off the lights before you leave your home. Also, don’t forget to unplug other electronics and appliances as well. Even when there is no phone on the charger and the blender is not turned on, these items still draw electricity when plugged in.
RecycleWhile you should try to recycle all the time, be sure to do it on Earth Day. However, be sure to check with local guidelines to ensure that you recycle materials properly, so they don’t end up as waste anyway.
VolunteerThere are a variety of brands and businesses that host events for Earth Day. Sign up to help them with their cause. Even if it is not just for Earth Day, many brands that are good for the environment operate year round and could use extra help. You might end up learning something new or educating others about the environment.
DonateIf you’re unable to volunteer your time, find an organization dedicated to protecting the environment and make a donation. No matter how small of a donation you make, it can be a big help to eco-friendly brands.
When you make an online purchase at EcoVessel.com, 5% is donated to a nonprofit. Customers have the option to donate to Water For People, Surfrider Foundation, Protect Our Winters, or Leave No Trace.
Plant a TreeTree plantings are a symbolic gesture frequently associated with Earth Day. If you’re unable to plant a tree, you can still help keep our planet green by planting other plants. Trees and other plants are essential to a healthy planet.
However you choose to celebrate Earth Day, be sure to make it count. Do your part for the next generation. Happy Earth Day!
