Meet Jon Fox, EcoVessel’s Founder and President
Inspired by his thirst for adventure and a respect for the planet, Boulder, Colorado, resident and dedicated father Jon Fox founded EcoVessel in 2009.
What was your motivation and inspiration for starting EcoVessel?
In 2008, there was a lot of negative news about BPA and other chemicals in reusable plastic bottles. I started to look for safe alternatives for me and my family, and I realized that there were not many options available. I created EcoVessel in order to provide a safe, performance-based insulated water bottle that maintains the optimal temperature of any beverage.
What is your favorite product?
Our new Perk insulated coffee and tea mug works really well for both hot and cold drinks. It includes our signature TriMax® triple insulation, and the lid is our most versatile to date. It allows for one-handed operation and has an integrated lock, so I can feel safe that it will stay closed when I’m traveling.
What makes EcoVessel products special compared to those of other insulated water bottle companies?
Innovation and design have been part of our DNA since the beginning, and our TriMax® insulation has been independently tested to outperform our competitors. We have great options for kids and adults and have created a simple formula for success: We focus on creating the best customer experience through engineering the best product designs for superior features, performance, and value.
What is EcoVessel’s mission?
At EcoVessel, we seek to reduce the world’s dependence on single-use disposables by creating top-quality, performance-based hydration vessels and food storage containers—all while being dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service possible.
How does EcoVessel give back to the community?
Originally we partnered with nonprofit Water For People to promote safe drinking water projects around the globe. Most recently, we’ve partnered with Elkay, the world's leading manufacturer of water bottle fill stations, to help schools across the country raise funds to purchase and install Elkay water bottle fill stations. The program teaches students about the environmental importance of using reusable bottles compared to single-use plastic water bottles and aligns really well with our goals to reduce dependence on single-use plastics.
Why should consumers feel good about purchasing EcoVessel products?
Our products are thoughtfully designed to look sleek and modern while offering superior performance. We offer a lifetime warranty on every product and have an incredible customer support team.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love interacting with customers and learning what they like and don’t like about our bottles. I then use that feedback to improve our existing designs and to create new products.
If you could tell customers one thing about EcoVessel, what would it be?
Unlike most “new” bottles you find on the market that are really just copies of those already in existence, our products are all originally designed and prototyped in our Boulder, Colorado, office.
If you aren’t in the office, where can we find you?
In the winter, when I’m not at my son’s basketball games, I am snowboarding in the mountains. When it warms up, you’ll find me outside riding my mountain bike.
